Direct vs Indirect objects

This is about a simple rule in English language: Direct and Indirect objects. A direct object can be identified by asking a “what” question.

Example: I gave a book to Saman.

In this example, if we ask the question “What did I give”, the answer will be “a book” which gives us our direct object. Therefore in this sentence, the direct object is “book” and the indirect object is “Saman”.

If we are to change places of direct and indirect objects, we have to use the preposition “to”

It is simple as that…. Thanks
